PRETTY LITTLE MISTAKES
A Do-Over novel for adults!

Heather McElhatton’s singularly-original
debut novel has more than 150
possible endings. From your first choice –
where to go after school -  you decide
which of your dreams to chase.

Should you travel abroad or get a masters
degree? Marry or stay single? Become an
artist, an entrepreneur, a homemaker, a doctor,
or a drug dealer? There are hundreds of lives
sewn inside one book, some end fabulously and others in total disaster.

You may end up in an opulent mansion or homeless down by the river.
Happily married with your own corporation, or alone and pecked to death
by ducks in London. As a Zen master in Japan or morbidly obese in a
trailer park.  The book asks, is it destiny or decision that controls our
fate?  In real life you can’t go back and do your life over – but in Pretty
Little Mistakes, you can.

The genesis of this book is the age-old game we all play called the What if
Game.
What if I would have taken that job? What if I hadn’t broken up
with that guy? What if I quit my job and took a trip around the world?
We
can’t stop wondering if we’ve made the right choices in our life. If it’s
decision or destiny running our lives. In real life we can’t stop, turn back
and get a do over – but in PRETTY LITTLE MISTAKES, you can.

JENNIFER JOHNSON IS SICK OF BEING SINGLE
a NOVEL by Heather McElhatton
Published by: HarperCollins
Available: May 5th, 2009

Quirky, retro-junk loving Jennifer Johnson
wanted to marry a wealthy man and write
the great American novel, but instead she's
approaching her thirties, still single and working
in the marketing department of a mid-range
Christian department store writing ads for
mens black dress socks.

When she finds out her little sister AND her ex-boyfriend are both getting
married on Valentines Day (not to each other, but still) she decides she
must find true love...at any cost. So ensues a series of the most painful
online dates imaginable, including a pudgy lawyer telling her to lose
weight and a dashing Xerox salesman listening to her make up incredible
lies. Then she meets Brad Keller...the store president's handsome son.

In an attempt to win him over, she makes herself over completely,
experiences an embarrassing moment with a ceramic elf, shows violent
behavior towards her beloved doll house and the small inhabitants inside.
Worst of all, she develops an addiction to Cinnabons so severe, that the
Cinnabon counter girl knows her by name.

Told in McElhatton's dark comedic voice, this is a cautionary tale of sex,
survival and how getting everything you want might be the worst thing that
ever happened to you. In stores May 5th, 2009.
